Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse review + tips

Loving Tan

Hi friends! So today I want to talk about the Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse. I heard about it several months ago on Instagram, and I ended up buying it for my spring break trip to Florida after reading about a million reviews. I wanted to let you know my thoughts, since a lot of reviews online come from beauty professionals, and not normal college ladies like myself.

I am a naturally very pale person. My mother blessed me with British skin that refuses to take any pigment. Most summers I will make an effort to lie out in the sun every day, and by August I will have a slight golden hue that most people can achieve in one afternoon. Yay for European ancestry! Anyway, this is a big reason why I chose to invest in Loving Tan. I knew I wanted to come back from spring break with a tan, and I wouldn’t be able to achieve that in one week on my own. If you are like me and struggle to tan on your own, I think Loving Tan is a great option.

Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse Review

First, lets talk about the price. Loving Tan is on the expensive side for someone who doesn’t have a reliable income. I’m a full time college student and I don’t work regularly during the semester, so coming up with thirty five dollars was a bit of a challenge. But, I definitely think that when it comes to fake tan, it is worth it to spend a little more money. Lower-end tanning products can end up looking streaky and orange. The goal is to look like you spent your day lying at the beach, not rolling in a bag of Cheetos.

The Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse comes in three shades: Medium, Dark and Ultra Dark. I chose to go with the shade ‘Dark’. At first I was going to buy the shade ‘Medium’, but I knew I wanted a more dramatic result, so I decided to buy the middle shade. The Loving Tan website says that this shade works best with medium to dark skin tones, but I think anyone can use it because it worked on my alabaster skin just fine.

This tanning mousse is not orange AT ALL. I don’t have much experience with fake tan, because in the past I have had horrible results that made me believe I was just too pale to use any artificial tanners. But, Loving Tan has totally showed me that if you invest in a good-quality fake tan, you can definitely get beautiful results. It looks completely natural, as long as you make sure to apply it correctly.

The smell of Loving Tan is very similar to most fake tans. It is kind of a sweet smell; I think it’s nice. The scent will stay on your skin for about the first 24-48 hours after you apply it. Although, it is only noticeable if you smell your skin, so it’s not like people will smell you as you walk by them, lol.

I think Loving Tan is pretty easy to apply. What I really like is that it has a color to it while you are applying, so you are able to see where you have put the tan and what parts of your body still need to be covered. When applying, make sure to rub, rub RUB!!! Rub like your life depends on it. Haha. What I mean is that you should really put some effort into rubbing the tan into your skin really well so that there won’t be any streaks. It can also be pretty hard to reach your back on your own. I think it’s great if you can get a friend to help with this part, otherwise otherwise you can buy a back applicator.

This tan lasts about a week. If I were to stay on a schedule, I would probably apply Loving Tan once a week, and that would work fine. But, I’m too lazy to do that. Lol. What is great about this tan is that it doesn’t get streaky or splotchy when it starts to fade. It fades so naturally that you probably won’t even notice it happening. The tan doesn’t start to look gross and uneven toward the end of the week, like some other cheaper tans tend to do.

Loving Tan is an Australia-based company, so I was initially worried about shipping time. I ordered it about two weeks before my vacation and I wasn’t sure that would be enough time. But, it ended up getting here well in advance, even before things I had shipped that same day from Forever 21. On the website, it says shipping can take 2-7 business days, and mine came in about 3-4. Not bad.

Overall, this is a great product. It’s not streaky, looks natural on the skin, fades without getting splotchy, and is easy to apply. The price is a little high, but with all the positive aspects of the product, I think the money is worth the pay off. And, fake tan is DEFINITELY better for your skin than lying out in the sun for hours or using tanning beds (don’t use those. Pls). Fake tan is a great way to get that summa glow without having to get sweaty in the sun or damage your skin. Also, I get freckles, so fake tan is a great way for me to get darker skin without also getting millions of brown dots on my face! Don’t get me wrong, I think freckles are cute, but I like to keep the ones on my face to a minimum. I hope this review was helpful! Now I am going to share with you my best tips for applying Loving Tan.

This is me the morning after I had applied the tan. My skin usually glows from being so pale, so this is an awesome result!

Tips to make the most out of your Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse

  • Use a mitt when applying. You can get one from Loving Tan, or you can just get a cheap one off of Amazon. Either way, this will stop you hands from looking really weird, and it will also help make the application process smoother.
  • Don’t spray perfume on your skin while you are using Loving Tan. The chemicals in the perfume/body spray will make the tan separate and look splotchy.
  • This tan takes eight hours to develop. So, I recommend showering at night and applying the bronzing mousse before going to bed. Then when you wake up, just rinse off the excess tan.
  • Don’t put clothing on too early. It might seem weird, but after you apply the tan, just chill out in your room for a bit before putting on your pajamas. This will give the mousse time to dry.
  • Make sure to pay close attention to areas where the tan might stick, such as your elbows, knees, toes, ankles and fingers. Take extra time to really make sure those areas look even, and apply moisturizer to those areas beforehand to prevent the tan from looking splotchy in those areas.

I hope these tips helped! If you use Loving Tan, make sure to post it on Instagram and tag me so I can see!
